                           (Lighting, Sound and Stage Design)

Devoid of substance, light has the singular capacity to create and metamorphize the visual and emotional impact of a space, an architecture, a scene…

With over 40 years of professional experience, I have worked for a wide range of theatre, entertainment and architectural projects, nationally and internationally, both as lighting designer and consultant. Following my studies and 12 years designing for the theatre (including a number of west-end shows in the UK), I moved to France - via WDI, Glendale - to work with Disney.

Since then, I have designed the lighting in a number of different disciplines, as much for the stage and show business, as for son-et-lumières, spectacles and architecture.

A long and on-going affair with theme parks – design, installation and operation – has logically led me to the development of combining theatrical lighting idioms into an architectural context, resulting in a dynamic and dramatic design approach.

I spent 3 years in Abu Dhabi as Senior Lighting Director and Lighting Designer, heading up the lighting team on the award-winning Warner Bros. World.

Opened in 2018, it is the world’s largest indoor theme park with over 12,000 installed luminaires.
In 2019, we won the IES Lumen West Award of Merit for Interior Lighting Design.

In 2020 the park won the TEA Award for Outstanding Achievement.

I have recently completed the lighting design for my third Center Parcs project in France; and am currently working on a very high-profile project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Other notable designs include Center Parcs ‘Le Bois aux Daims’, Vienne region, France; the park-wide lighting for Parc Asterix; the immersive ‘Nocturnia’ at the Parc Argonne Découverte, Ardennes, France; ‘Océan de Vies’ at the marine museum, Océanopolis, Brest;  the musical ‘Freedom’ at the Cirque d’Hiver, Paris; the Light Harp and the main entrance hall for the Space Museum, Toulouse; ‘Fantasy Kingdom’ for the theme park ‘Gardaland’, Italy and the spectacle ‘Poussières d’Etoiles’ for the Science and Industry Museum, Paris.

The treatment of whatever subject through the application of light is achieved through an intimate understanding of this ephemeral medium and its expressive possibilities. The result reflects the close collaboration and privileged dialogue with the client or design team and subsequent creative translation of vision to reality.
